Turns out it was one of the best decisions I've made in a long time. My old external hard drive had a loud, annoying fan, but this drive is incredibly quiet. The black case is really nice, and the LED logo on the front looks great.I backed up all my files and I still have tons of room. 1TB for this price is an amazing deal. I have not been disappointed. Here are some observations I've made on the unit:Positive Aspects: ----------------- - The drive looks very sharp. - It has a good sturdy metal case and can be side mounted on a enclosed stand, or sit on 4 small rubber feet on the bottom of the unit. - The drive has a power switch on the back of it (something a lot of USB drives do not have, for some curious reason) - The front of the unit lights up to let you know when the drive is on, and when data transfer is taking place. - The power adapter has a narrow shape that will fit in a surge protector and only take up the space of one plug. - This drive is extremely quiet. I installed the One Touch Backup software that came with it, but it does not work. I have to manually drag the folders I need to back up to the drive, in windows explorer.
